We are partnering with two lifestyle accessories brands for a special Pop-up Shop in NYC, July 19-23.  The Pop-Up will take place in the Soho area of Manhattan at FOG New York, a retail shop located at 327 Lafayette Street.

Lexdray at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013

We recently had the pleasure of being involved with Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival. The festival, which took place April 12-13, 2013, was the fourth of its kind having begun in 2004 and takes place every three years. Founder, Eric Clapton, started the festival in an effort to benefit the Crossroads Centre, a drug treatment center located in Antigua. Eric handpicks each artist that takes part in the benefit concert and this year featured 30+ all-star guitarists over two nights in a line-up that included Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Jeff Beck, John Mayer, Los Lobos, Vince Gill, Robert Cray, The Allman Brothers, and of course Eric himself.

We were able to create special patches which were attached to our Lexdray Boulder and Tokyo backpacks. These "gift bags" were filled with tons of amazing gear and given to all the artists who donated their time and effort to an amazing cause. Check out the images below.

Lexdray x Red Bull Thre3Style

We recently partnered with Red Bull and Streetvirus to design the ultimate DJ Backpack that finalists in the Red Bull Thre3Style competition will receive. To make the most functional DJ Backpack, we consulted with friend, DJ Clark Kent, who has made classic beats for multiple hip hop legends and travels the world performing in clubs. Young Guru (Jay-Z’s DJ and engineer) also worked with us during the design process to construct an innovative and stylish DJ Backpack.

During the design process, we measured everything a DJ would typically carry with them to a performance and made sure there was a spot for each of these items in the bag. The front section of the backpack consists of two zippered pockets (one of them is fleece lined) which were designed to carry small valuables like batteries, memory cards, flash drives and cell phone. The second section of the bag has six mesh zippered pockets designed to hold cords of all kinds. Opposite the zippered pockets, are four padded slots that house a Shure needle case, hard drive, Serato SL4 and head phones. The third compartment of the bag was designed for 6 to 8 records and the fourth section can hold up to an 18” laptop and an ipad. The last section has a rear compartment, similar to our other backpacks, designed to store CDs. The bottom of the bag is water-resistant, includes sturdy feet so the bag sits upright and features a duck print camo pattern designed by Streetvirus.

We will be releasing a limited run of the DJ Backpack this April. The Lexdray version DJ Pack (Ibiza Pack) will feature an all-black exterior and a grey-scale duck print camo lining.  The bag will retail for $405 and will be available here on our site and in select retail shops.

Red Bull Thre3Style - 3-Pack

Streetvirus x Lexdray x Mitchell & Ness for Red Bull Thre3Style

The Red Bull Thre3Style competition is already in full swing with the finals coming to Lure in Los Angeles on April 5th. Finalists of the competition may not realize it, but they will be getting some very unique gifts curated by Red Bull and Streetvirus...each item sporting the "Champion Sound" logo.

Streetvirus produced a collection of 14 individully numbered limited edition one-of-a-kind jackets. The jackets are constructed from indigo dyed vintage camouflage.

Lexdray produced a collection of 50 numbered DJ Backpacks with a custom duck print camo lining designed by Streetvirus.

Mitchell & Ness produced 400 hi crown snap back hats for the competition.  The visor and undervisor feature a duck print camo pattern designed by Streetvirus.

Check out images of the 3-pack below.

Lexdray x Tony Royster Jr.

We've been working on a special project for some time now with talented drummer, Tony Royster, Jr.  Tony travels the world playing with the likes of Jay-Z and Joe Jonas among others. In order to make his travel experience more seamless, we will be releasing a unique case with Tony later this year. Our first promotional piece to let people know about the project took place at the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles on December 21st. Stay tuned for images and more information on this collaboration.

PROJECT/reed @ S.L.A.T.E Las Vegas

We were honored last week to be included in PROJECT/reed, a unique exhibition curated by Jeff Staple at the S.L.A.T.E segment of the PROJECT Las Vegas tradeshow. Jeff created a museum like atmosphere containing some of the most exclusive, limited, and creative collaborations to be released in the last few years.

In addition to our Lexdray x Boylston Trading Co Boulder Pack, some of the other brands which completed the installation included Nike, KAWS, Adidas, Levi's, Bape, Supreme, Maiden Noir, Asics and Billionaire Boys Club.

Visitors to the exhibition were greeted with a plaque that read: “What you see before you are physical archives of our world.  They all come from ‘the streets,’ but these items are now some of the world’s most sought-after and highly coveted objects.”

Check out the photos and video below.  More details on the exhibition: Inqmind, Freshness, Complex

Troy Twins sporting Lexdray Boulder Packs

If you were like me last week and didn't know influential blogger Marcus Troy had a virtually identical twin, now ya know. Like Marcus, Ahmad Troy is soft spoken, intellectual and opinionated. Makes me like Marcus X 2. After my initial double-take, I couldn't resist getting them to pose for a photo with me...each sporting our Boulder Pack no less. Much appreciated Troy twins.

Camo is the new Black - Project Vegas 2012

With a steady flow of well dressed buyers, editors and chic attendees visiting our booth last week, I didn't get as much time as I would have liked to walk the show during Project's 3-day event, but I wanted to post a few images.  Of the endless booths and floorspace at the show, I was by far most impressed with "Project Wooster" curated by Nick Wooster. The aesthetic appeal of his beautifully curated section, consisting of mostly Japanese brands whose products could inspire anyone to love retail, will surely be adopted by trade shows worldwide.  Here are a few images I shot from Project Wooster.

On and Beyond

Multi-talented blogger, artist, photographer Vincent Tsang added a few posts to his onandbeyond.com blog last week as a result of The Blogger Project. His posts included some outstanding images from Project Wooster curated by Nick Wooster, Herno Laminar's new line designed by Errolson Hugh of Acronym, Staple Design's new line from Jeff Staple, a few pics of Pharrell and Project president Andrew Pollard, and last (though we were the first of these posts) some excellent shots of our booth.  Vincent's eye for great brands and understanding how to capture intelligent product images make onandbeyond a must read.  Thanks again Vincent.

Project Las Vegas - Feb 2012

Project, Magic, Slate and Workroom brought together a wealth of unbelievable brands, buyers, editors and talented people all around last week in Las Vegas. We were thrilled yet again with how well the show was put together and the response to our brand. Special thanks to Project and everyone that came out to show us support.  As a result of Project you will see our bags in a number of new curated specialty boutiques in the months to come.
